Tern TV, one of the UK’s oldest and most successful independent productions companies has appointed Accorder as its music publisher. Led by David Strachan, the multi-award winning Tern TV started way back in the dim and distant days of 1988 based in Aberdeen, one of the very first indies (you had to be bold and brave in those days). Since then the company has produced hundreds and hundreds of hours of high quality factual programming – an amazingly eclectic mix of lifestyle, arts, history, travel, observational and so much more. Current programming includes Air Ambulance ER for Sky One, The Mountain for BBC1 about life in the Cairngorms and the now legendary Beechgrove Garden for BBC2. The latest evolutionary step is the company’s burgeoning digital business, producing content for apps, games and other digital platforms. Tern now has offices in Aberdeen, Glasgow and Belfast and is the best kind of proof that there really is abundant life and TV production opportunities outside the M25.
PS: Tern (n): globetrotting Scottish seabird with long pointed wings, a forked tail and a nippy beak
