Barrington Pheloung signs with Accorder

 

Barrington Pheloung, the acclaimed TV, film and stage composer signs with Accorder Music Publishing.

Barrington’s work is known worldwide – through the numerous movie scores he has composed, including And When Did You Last See Your Father? (Colin Firth, Jim Broadbent), Incendiary (Ewan McGregor, Michelle Williams) and Shopgirl (Steve Martin, Claire Danes & Jason Schwartzman), his television work on Morse and now Lewis, ballets, concertos and stage pieces (The Graduate, Wheel of Life). An enormously prolific composer Barrington is currently working on a new opera, a concerto for guitar with Perth Virtuoso, Craig Ogden, two films, as well as ongoing television commitments for Lewis.

Barrington's recent film compositions include Anand Tucker's Red Riding 1983 (starring David Morrissey, Mark Addy and Sean Bean) to be premiered in London late February 2009.

Announcing his move to Accorder Music Publishing, the Company’s Creative Director, Anne Miller said, “Barrington is a truly amazing composer whose works have huge breadth. Our bespoke approach to publishing - working only with a modest number of high quality artists – greatly appealed to him. Barrington is also an avid environmentalist, reintroducing rare species into his garden environment in Australia. As a member of the Lords Taveners, Barrington is a keen player and spectator of cricket.
