There’s Nothing Like a Dame

Watch out for, There’s Nothing Like a Dame, a remarkable documentary feature to be released next month. The candid film, which Accorder’s Anne Miller and Frankie Videtta were music supervisors on, honours the careers and friendship of the great acting dames, Judi Dench, Maggie Smith, Eileen Atkins and Joan Plowright. The famous four, who have never appeared on screen together, take a look back on their remarkable careers in the 90 minute film which also gets a BBC2 screening in the summer. It’s full of laughs and reminiscences including Maggie Smith’s wry observation that Judi Dench seems to grab all the good parts for older women these days! The film, directed by Roger Michel (Notting Hill), is produced by Sally Angel of Field Day Productions.
