Tree fu Tom, CBeebies hit pre-school series launches on Sprout, the fastest growing kid’s cable channel in the US, next week and already the buzz is growing! The announcement was greeted by extraordinary coverage in the US press. The Wall Street Journal for example billed the show as “the series that’s taken the UK by storm”. The premiere of the series, animated by the UK’’s Blue Zoo (an Accorder client), kicks-off a week-long celebration in the States called “Dig Into Earth Day,” which promotes conservation and the importance of caring for the environment. The wonderful music for the series, integral to the young viewers enjoyment, is composed by Accorder writer Michael Richard Plowman.
Industry experts says the last time a UK kid’s series got this sort of reception was when the Teletubbies first arrived stateside back in the 90’s. Tree Fu Tom was the highest rated programme in the UK last year for children ages 4 to 6 and has been acquired for broadcast in over 70 territories.
Sprout is one of the leading children’s networks and has had a current growth streak of 16 consecutive months of year-over-year double-digit percentage gains in total day household delivery.
