Douglas Black Heaton is a composer and multi-instrumentalist writing music for all kinds of visual media, including TV, film, advertising and games.
His latest work includes BBC2 show Monty Don’s Japanese Gardens, BBC studio’s Nadiya’s British Food, the Kate Humble fronted Chinese New Year: The Biggest Celebration on Earth for BBC2, Hiroshima – The Real Story for NHK/Arte (and distributed by BBC WW), Secret History: The Riddle of the Jade Mummy for Channel 4 and Piggy Tales, a hugely successful internationally distributed animation now into its third season. Other composition work includes the Channel 4 production Scandimania, from River Cottage’s Hugh-Fearnley Whittingstall.
He has also written music for the phenomenally popular Angry Birds Seasons game, as well as composing, supervising and editing for Rovio on their Angry Birds Toons animation series. He recently featured on the Angry Birds Movie, where he accompanies Peter Dinklage, Josh Gad, Jason Sudeikis and Danny McBride singing the Mighty Eagle song.
